Big Adventures with a Little Guy

For many adults, adventure conjures images of scaling mountain peaks, skydiving, or wandering through exotic lands. But adventure has taken on a more nostalgic and intimate meaning to me. As a child, it was about the simple joys—playgrounds were castles, a hike through the woods was an expedition, and visiting the town over felt like traveling to an alternate timeline. As a parent, I wanted to recreate that sense of wonder and excitement for my son, Reve.

We started doing what I call our "Friday Adventure" since I had that day off work. Sometimes, our adventures extend into the weekend or aren't even on Fridays. Sometimes, they include others. Sometimes, the adventure is just within the house; other times, it is hours away.

This blog is to capsulate these special moments, provide reviews and ideas of fun things parents can do with children of any age and promote local travel opportunities. I also invite you to join me on my journey of self-discovery, as I overcome awkwardness around children, learn how to bond with a little boy, heal from past traumas, and strive to comprehend the true essence of love, happiness, forgiveness, curiosity, and genuine friendship.
